Use Of Lasers In Bore Alignment
Laser alignment is commonly used for accurate and rapid bore alignment measurements. The laser is aimed along the bore path while several laser targets placed along that path measure any deviation of the bore. This allows the bore to be precisely aligned in much less time than manual measurement.
Laser bore alignment is useful for applications such as bore shaft placement, alignment of propellor shafts during shipbuilding, positioning of pistons during pump assembly and alignment of extrusion press rams in their boxes, among other applications.
